The winner of the Hamburg Animation Award will receive a trophy and EUR 5.000 in prize money, the Innovative Design Award will be awarded EUR 3.000. A Country Award will be presented to the contest winner from China (EUR 2.000 plus travel expenses), this year’s partner country in the Hamburg Animation Award contest. Total prize money amounts to just under EUR 11.000.

Since 2003 outstanding national and international newcomers in the animated film sector have been awarded the Hamburg Animation Award.
Audience Award: The guests at the award ceremony on 12 June 2012 will vote for their favourite film from the list of films nominated by the Hamburg Animation Award jury.
Country Award Great Britain: This year the Country Award will go to an animated film newcomer from Great Britain. All travel and hotel expenses will be paid for the Country Award winner. In addition, all contest entries from Great Britain automatically qualify for the other award divisions.
Trophy Designed by
Adam Ostrowski
Since 2007 Aurubis AG, copper manufacturers based in Hamburg, has donated the trophy. Each trophy is handcrafted from pure copper. The Polish sculptor Adam Ostrowski is also known for his creation of the copper dragon for CHINA TIME Hamburg.
