The animation-school-hamburg is in collaboration with the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce initiator of the Hamburg Animation Award. 

The project, founded in 1998 and initiated by the Bildungswerk Medien, offers advanced and professional training in 2D animation (12 months) and beginning 2009 in 3D animation (diverse three-month modules), and beginning 2010 an introduction to stop motion techniques (three months) in cooperation with the Hamburg studio Trikk 17. The project is part of the Stiftung Berufliche Bildung, a foundation for vocational education, and is financed by the Department of Econmic Affairs and Labour of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and school admission fees.
