The Association of Friends proposes ideas, makes suggestions, conveys opinions and experiences for the realisation and continuing development of the Hamburg Animation Award. The members of the Association of Friends are long-time followers of the award and representatives of the animation industry in Hamburg. The Bildungswerk Medien e.V. held this function until 2008 and was responsible for initiating the founding of the animation-school-hamburg.
