The Hamburg Chamber of Commerce is both organizer and – in collaboration with the animation -school-hamburg – initiator of the Hamburg Animation Award. It is also in charge of project coordination.

For over 340 years the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce has represented the interests and been the self-regulatory body of the Hamburg business community. Established by merchants at one time, the Chamber of Commerce now has the status of a public institution. All Hamburg businesses with the exception of tradesmen and free-lancers are members: almost 160,000 companies and businesses totalling over 800,000 employees.
