Once again, the Abaton theatre is our cinema partner for the 7th Hamburg Animation Award, since Animation Night became part of the programme. Abaton-Kino was one of the first arthouse cinemas to be established in Germany. Arthouse cinemas were founded in 1970 and constitute an important element in the German cinema landscape.

Animation Night is a special evening where the films nominated for the Hamburg Animation Award are shown to the general public. The audience will also have the opportunity of talking to award winners and industry insiders. Visitors will become acquainted with the fascinating world of animation.
