For the seventh time in 2010, the Hamburg Animation Award will honour young creative cartoon talents based on the graduate thesis films from outstanding students of international animation schools. The award promotes young creative cartoon talents while bringing them together with leading companies in the industry.

The highlight is the award ceremony honouring the winners before an audience of approximately 650 invited guests. This event is followed by a special animated film workshop and a public screening of the films nominated for the award.

The Hamburg Animation Award has become an important event for the animated film industry as it spotlights young, talented cartoon creators, whose talent is sought after by animation studios, games companies and advertising agencies. The Hamburg Animation Award also places greater focus on Hamburg as a media centre for the animation industry.

The award is an initiative of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the animation-school-hamburg and the friendly support of several partners.
